This mixture creates harmony and comfort - the perfect antidote for this hectic season. Delicious Virginia tobaccos of different shades and cuts are blended in proportion with three kinds of exquisite Black Cavendish. When smoked this tobacco presents itself as substantial and opulent as well as soft and cool. The fragrance is refined and strong in expression and combines delicious aromas of hazelnut, caramel and baked apples. (From the tin description)

I am rating this tobacco for what it is: an innovative aromatic for the holidays, as opposed to a tobacco meant for everyday smoking. And innovative it is! I get apple and a lot of honeydew (green melon) wrapped in cotton candy. And, surprisingly, some Wild Mint leaves. This is a playful tobacco. The smoke is mild and surprisingly dry. No tongue bite. The room note is enticing: sweet and candy-like. Expect very favourable comments from non-smokers! For me, this is a treat, but I'll tire of it quickly when smoked on a regular basis.

I picked a tin of this up along with the 2013 blend and unlike the newer blend I am enjoying this a lot more.

The smell on opening the tin is to me a very heavy citrus note with lots of lemon and orange and the smoke reflects this well delivering a sharp kick of citrus along with some floral notes and sour apple hard sweets.

One word of warning though, if smoked too quickly it will bite something chronic so slow smoking is the only option in my opinion which is a shame as I always end up wanting more of that sour apple flavour.

I bought the tin in March at one of the good tobacconists in Brussels. They told me that one of their customer had bought 8 or 9 tins of the blend so that led me to buy the last one in the shop!

No regret about that! If I fail to identify the aroma as baked apples: in the tin that more smells as baked bananas. Whatever the strange aroma that is a very nice aromatic whose taste lasts fully when slowly burning in the bowl. Highly recommended if you find one!

If you are lucky enough to have a tin, I do, tee,hee hee,,it's Christmas in a tin, room note lovely, the Missis, smokes a little fast, may be me , can't stop puffing it. Green fresh apples crunching, mixed with a touch of cinnamon, then Christmas pudding with all the complexities, brandy touches, plums, almonds, apple raisins, very complex, rewarding, if not too rapid a smoke, First smoke No thank-you....third smoke,,ordered another tin,,get one if you can !!!! Doc'spipe review fills in the words I fail to say, well said.

Labor: Mix Name: Country of Origin: Peterson Holiday Season 2012 - Ireland Tasting Date 20/07/2012 Packaging description Lata square for 100 grams, which usually uses for his limited editions Peterson. Visual appearance snuff: At first glance distinguish at least two types of virginia (3 I would say) one of them with a bright gold color and another (or others) with a brownish brown autumn. Of course the mixture is sprinkled with pinches black Cavendish. The mixer does not lie in its description, the cuts are very irregular, we snuff part that seems almost a sting, others are short and have fine threads and authentic squares reminiscent in virginia much as is a sheet of paper We've been through a shredder of those who cut switchbacks.

Touch, Humidity and Aroma

Just open the can the aroma of green apples and citrus of Virginia enfilarán directly to our nose, without compassion. The striking sensation is so intense that almost takes away the idea of ??this work could smoke. Before opening the plastic wrap that comes in snuff can also perceive a slight smell of jellybeans. To touch the snuff is pure silk, cool and pleasant as the precious fabric. Comes very wet, at least I can have smoked. In fact it is so wet that we smoked different depending on whether or not we leave it to dry.

Pipe in which cata Several works well at all, improved foams that enhance sweetness

Snuff and Power Loading

I even a little cut snuff so unequal that it presents. It fits very well in the bowl, no problem. If we have not left dry light his pipe cost us more than usual and the first part of the smoke will be a constant struggle attacker and fire. If you let it dry no problem Abundance and density Fortress Itchy Tongue Taste Right, High dense smoke, good not tienene

Need lit appearance of damp pipe temperature If allowed to dry any if allowed to dry any standard

Reactions of who we nicotinic Force Pleasant, is the smell of pipe before Mid-Low

General Writing Smoked

(Based on moist snuff) lighting costs, the smoke is very thin, almost tasteless. Both factors together forces us to give very strong blasts followed. The smoke that at first was very fresh smoke suddenly becomes hot, almost rude. I do not enjoy his pipe. Taste of green apples, unripe, the fit to make cider, with a counterpoint in the lower smoke Virginia. The flavors do not mix, do not mix. The ash in the bowl is very uneven, a small white cloud in a sea of ??black snuff coal. Generates moisture by the way we're smoking and may even sting a bit and heat our beloved pipe. I re-lit several to see if the pace picks up smoke, but no way. Turned off. Attacked and attacked but the snuff and pipe I still win.

Peterson is a far more quality snuff, Danish-style flavors, disappointing considering the high cost of this work. At the end of this phase, things improve a bit, the smoke becomes more dense and green apple becomes more present. I really do not know why I kept this snuff smoking the first time I tried, in the first third of the bowl was a feeling of disgust. I smoke it wet again and all my impressions and my description are confirmed.

Therefore advise letting it dry, this phase of the smoke is very expendable and the only nuance is providing flavors of green apple. The drying time should be at least 15 minutes, one hour better. The best results I got stuffy at night leaving foam sea smoke the next morning.

Slowly, the smoke is cooled, it becomes cool, a pleasant tingling and itching reaches our nose. We entered the second phase of our smoked. Winding down!. Let us hasten to serve a glass. A port (or other sweet wine) can be perfect, a bourbon can also add up and even if the first phase of a cider smoked escanciamos we also enhance the glory of our smoked. A festival is coming to our senses and palate. Heat finally roasted apples and now if the smoke becomes thick and our palates chew authentic baked apples with caramel dip slightly.

The Virginia is asleep, the Cavendish and its aromas are everywhere. Autumn, Christmas, smell and memory of nuts and apples from Grandma cooked in a wood oven or coal. Pleasure, sweet pleasure, you can only say Wow.

Far from being a monotonous smoked Virginia reappears below Cavendish few minutes. When I say below, I mean below, at the bottom of your mouth will now detect your virgíneas leaving the Cavendish and his apples in our top. And although both flavors are distinguished clearly, if there is now a fusion and symbiosis thereof. Perhaps this effect mixer but never seek our roasted apples are transformed into New York's apple pie. In the real apple pie New York. We can literally chew the cake.

But our beloved Christmas snuff continues to evolve, the virgíneas sweetest, the most sugary, are growing in prominence. Curious, our apple pie we transformed into an exquisite Christmas marzipan. A delicious change leads to another and another.

But this work does not give up, and we want to continue to evolve well into the third phase of our smoked. It Cavendish and our apples are just numb and we have a vague memory of autumn nuts, chestnuts. The Virginia dominates everything. Is Virginia that is premised on a Peterson: Quality, high quality, Virginia Young and sweet, bright, fresh, very nice. Fitting end to the smoke, pure flavor of just tasting good snuff, really memorable

After the smoke: No time for despair. Whether large or small bowl, thinking immediately surprised us when we put another charge pipe and continue smoking, relentlessly. Does not leave unsatisfied, not that, is simply to further pleasure, still enjoy a very different snuff. The residue of ash is white with some splashes of black Cavendish remains. I can only re-think: Wow

Meditation smoked

As the minutes passed settles in my mind memories of an autumn afternoon or Christmas in the village. Baked apples that my grandmother made for tea, the sweet smell of the buns in the oven. Quiet time, to be a child, peace, gentleness. Time childhood, to meditate, to learn, to relax, to play with time. Snuff unlike anything, although it is very sweet, that far from being a defect is part of its special virtues. Time Carol, marzipan, family, wood heat .. Peacetime

Personal opinion

I always said that Peterson can do large pipes and tobaccos mediocre. Not because they use raw materials of the highest quality, but because they do not get their mixers combine good flavors and I always end up looking like cigars over North European than American or English.

Last Saturday my friend Alex opened a can and smell both their expressions and comments put to Holiday Season 2012 against me. He had bought two cans and returned one. I stayed with another because I always like to try everything and if I was not convinced the snuff was going to give the club Barcelona.

The first time you smoke, wet and loaded it 15 minutes snuff thought this was just a little worse than other Peterson.

But suddenly came the magic, the Star of Bethlehem brought the wonder of flavors containing this smoke. The smoke was the frustration, problems, everything disappeared and were alone the good memories of childhood and I, and my heart peace. My question now is whether to buy 10 or 20 cans plus, because if a snuff also very suitable for these days will also be an excellent friend in the hot days of summer, those in my beloved latakia becomes difficult to smoke. I love strong Latakia and snuff, this is a work sweet love to me.

I never smoke a job twice, so far this week I've only smoked this Peterson. My opinion: Perfect, of the few that I consider a snuff 10

Mild Strong Medium to Full Very Pleasant

If you're looking for a holiday blend that inspires the season with its flavor and aroma this is definitely it.

This year's blend is a nice combination of different Virginias and Black Cavendish leaves that is married superbly to a top dressing of hazelnut, caramel, and baked apples.

Upon opening the tin one is greeted with a wonderful sweet apple cider aroma with a hint of caramel and hazelnut. Opening the tin alone brings to mind all of the wonderful late nights infront of the fire place sipping on some warm apple cider.

Now for the smoke, the moisture level is almost perfect right out of the tin for a smoke. It packs wonderfully and takes a charring light and true light just as well. It burns nice and evenly to a beautifully white ash. The flavor transfers over nicely into the smoke like all the other limited edition offerings from Peterson. It burns pretty cool for an aromatic and doesn't leave a wet goopy mess at the bottom of the bowl afterwards.

Overall this is a premo aromatic blend and one that I'm sure will sell out quickly due to the fact that it's a limited edition blend. Hopefully the folks at Peterson will make this a regular to their line up of blends.

Box, as always – beautiful and fitting the season. Moisture content – all fine, packs well, smokes great; no gurgling, no bite, all great.

Now the taste – O-M-G, this is just horrible! I'm a huge fan of aromatics, but this one is just bleah! Overwhelming green apples – this-is-all. Rather cool and refreshing taste, exactly what I do not want from my pipe. Personally I love the sweet and warm notes (vanilla, honey, a lingering note of toffee and cinnamon). If this tobacco was a drink it would have been a mohito (which I enjoy, but not in a pipe).

So for this blend, it's a no-no from me (unfortunately).

I had better experience with silver cube from MacBaren.

A very nice offering from Peterson for Christmas. Beautiful presentation of golds and blacks. Ready for packing and smoking right out of the tin. Sucking on the stem pre-lite tastes of evergreen/spiced apple. Once lit, a beautiful melange of flavors and a smooth, dry, cool, and bite-free smoke. As aromatic as this one is, with the aroma of baked apples out in front, there is sufficient tobacco flavor to satisfy. A cozy feeling of Christmas past can be effortlessly conjured up while blissfully puffing away on Holiday Season 2012. I just ordered 3 more tins. Enjoy!

UPDATE 12-15-12: What's truly fantastic about this blend is that you can smell what others smell while you are smoking it. I never experienced this with any other aromatic before. It smells like apple pie baking in the oven with a very sugary crust. The tin note is really good but the smell while smoking is even better. Simply outstanding.
