Saw this in Walgreen on clearance. None of their other tobaccos were being cleared out. This made me curious so I looked up the other review and thought "why not"? I went home and lit some up in a new Missouri Meershaum and was very pleasantly surprised. However, after half a can (3-1/2 oz) it became irritating and I can't exactly say why.

I've smoked every blend under the sun, from John Aylesbury to SRW to Velvet. That includes Blender's Gold. If you haven't tried their offerings you're missing out on some great blends for dirt cheap. Within the past few years this brand has experienced a metamorphosis from the plastic bag to 3.5 oz. tins. Less humecatants, higher qualitÃy leaf and better flavor make this a great go to, everyday type. Let these blends air out on parchment paper at room temperature, until the tobacco is fairly dry to the touch or has a powdery feel. 10 hour mark works best. This will allow any humecatants to evaporate. Pack full, light and give a good charring. Sit back and puff at a leisurely pace. I personally enjoy mixing the Toasted and Natural Cavendish. Can't tell you the number of compliments received from the wonderful aroma. It wasn't too sweet and didn't bite. This had a malty, citrusy taste. Underneath, a light floral note. Along with a pepperiness that doesn't overwhelm the palate. Adding the Toasted Cavendish gave it depth and smokiness. UPDATE 10-31-2016: Just opened a jar I had aging. Upon light up the blend had a very light bread like sweetness. Very light on the palate. Hint of floral and a spiciness that takes the lead. I can describe the experience in one word: straightforward. Better for blending at this point or a Plain Jane type of smoke.
