Dark Decadence is good, reminds me some of the other dark aros. It smoked cool, medium burn, and had a good room note. My wife loved it, but any of the chocolates, carmels, cherries, seem to please her. I really have become a vaper puffer, but wife wants that room note to be an outside one. Inside, I'd go for DD and it is economical as well.

I now have 12 blends and this is by far the best! Sweet but not overbearing, and it doesn't leave a strong aftertaste which is fantastic for me. The taste is very pleasant, and the room note reminds me of grandma's homemade vanilla ice cream. I let my friend, the owner of my local tobacco shop (for 20+ years) try this blend, though he had given up on pipe smoking several years ago in favor of Cigars. BLEW HIM completely out of the water! He says this is the BEST blend he has ever smoked, and he is now going to start selling this blend in store! I recommend everyone try this blend, it is new but is definitely my favorite.

Edit: I just bought a pound to jar up, and it tastes even better than the sample!

What a great Black Cavendish ! The coarse cut may take a little doing if youre not used to the cut , however it smokes about as slow and cool as a blend can . I can never peg the flavors of Aromatics very well , even though I smoke them often . Imagine a " typical " black Cavendish flavor ramped up a notch and something a little different thrown in . Sorry , that's the best I got . I joking say .. " It takes a pro to smoke and ARO " and it is most true with this blend . Honestly , if you like or love Black Cavendish , and why wouldn't you , this is a must try . Be prepared to smoke a long time if you fill an average or bigger sized bowl

I am not sure why this blend is not getting more attention. Dark Decadence is one of the best black cav blends I have come across. The tobacco is a course cut, but with just a little dry time I found is to burn well with few relights. The room note is a real wife pleaser. It is unlike any "vanilla blend" I have smoked - a cut above. The casing is not overbearing and leaves room for the tobacco to come thorough. Not even a hint of bite - an easy all day smoke!

Nice easy smoke, not too sweet, does not bite, burns cool. Price is reasonable. The taste is of vanilla and a little fruity. It has a nice room smell that everyone will enjoy.

I had high hopes and was not disappointed. Great all day Cavendish that will not bite. Flavor is sweet, but not over the top. Room note is amazing and it smokes well. I will keep this in my rotation. Highly recommend.

Summary: a cool-burning aromatic with maple, whisky, and vanilla notes.

I started out, before I knew just about anything, smoking a blend called Blender's Gold "Golden Burley." It was a Cavendish blend that may not be highly ranked by the Instagram and forum pipe-smokers, but was a very comfortable smoke. "Dark Decadence" follows the same path at full medium strength, being what looks like Burley Cavendish which has been treated with a topping that includes maple, vanilla, cherry, and whisky flavors. This blend takes a bit of work to light, since it is moist and treated with humectants, but once it gets going, it burns smoothly and delivers a fair amount of flavor, mostly whisky, to the bottom of the bowl. It leaves a bit of moisture, but smolders well, so if you breath-smoke this one can last you for hours. Since it is dense, I would pack it very lightly. I remain open-minded to aromatics, but if I had to pick one from the big shops, I would consider this option for being strong enough and not cloying in its flavor or sweetness. If you want the old school tobacco store smell, open a jar of this next to a jar of an English and drink in that rich scent. I tend to mix this one 1:2 with a basic Burley like Ohm "Natural" to make a better-burning and slightly stronger blend that still has the maple syrup with pancakes flavor and scent.

Sutliff's Dark Decadence has a jar note that is just beautiful! Sweet, a little citrus, and vanilla. It is rather strong in the jar but these flavors are not overpowering in the smoke. The toppings do lead the way and taste just like they smell in the jar. The vanilla is a little more reserved in the smoke but otherwise what you smell in the jar is what you will taste. The tobacco does come through a little, it has a dry earthiness and some sweetness that I associate with black cav. The nic is not noticeable to me, it did want to smoke a little warm so keep a slow cadence to avoid the possibility of bite, which can be hard to do as it tastes so good. It did smoke a little wet. The room note received favorable comments from those around me. The finish is fairly short with a pleasant lingering sweetness. This one is easy to recommend. 3.5 stars.

I'll title this one "Great for Road Trips"

When my wife and I travel, I tend to smoke more Aro's than normal to help keep the peace as she does not object to me smoking in the car.

This one is a very rich aro and I think of as Vanilla plus. She complemented the room (car) note and actually has also mentioned it when I smoke it at home. In the smoke I mostly get the vanilla with a little fruit.

This is moist from the bag/jar and even leaving it out it doesn't dry too much which points towards maybe the use of PG. It's a little tough to get going, but once it does, it produces tons of smoke and to me burns a little warm and can give a hint of tongue bite if not watched and treated gently.

At home I usually mix in RC515 at a 25% ratio to stretch it and give it a little more body.

I think this would be exceptional as a blending tobacco. On its own, it is somewhat overwhelming (a bit too decadent!). It has a nice flavor (mainly sweet vanilla for me) and room note. I just find it too rich to smoke much more than a quarter-bowl.

As a cavendish, it is of course very moist and will definitely need some dry time. I found that even leaving it out overnight doesn't eliminate a lot of moisture accumulating in the bowl.

Not a bad smoke, but you really need to love straight cavendish to enjoy it.
