Bentley La Dolce Vita/The Planters Sweet

(3.00)
Sun ripened, juicy Virginia and sweet black cavendish are perfectly blended with the addition of natural fruit extracts. The result is a mellow and highly aromatic smoke.
Notes: The name was changed from La Dolce Vita to The Planters Sweet in 2015. This blend is more of a mix between ribbon cut and broken flake, but the ribbon is more dominant.

Bentley-La Dolce Vita/Planters Sweet.

The appearance of the blend is about a medium brown, there's very little of the Black Cavendish in comparison to the Virginia. The smell is pretty much as you would expect from the description, a fruity one with a slight touch of Virginia. The ribbons aren't too long, the mix includes quite a few very small pieces. The moisture's good but this was from a sample bag so it may have been moist from the tin, I'm sorry as I can't say!

Once this is lit, quite easily I might add, the flavour is just what I thought it would be from the unlit blends look and aroma. The main taste is of fruit. It seems to be mainly a citrus type, tangy, zesty and slightly sweet.

The tobacco flavour is mainly Virginia, I don't notice much Black Cav but I guess as the topping is quite heavy this will hide any idiosyncratic features from the Cav' as it only looked like a small amount of it had been included .

The smoke gives me no tongue bite and is of a good temperature. The smoke isn't too thick either and this is reflected in the room. There's not plumes of smoke but a pleasant fruity/Virginia aroma.

The nicotine is a medium quantity. Good for all types of smoker.

This is an okay blend albeit I couldn't smoke it on a regular basis.

Somewhat recommended.

A very mild and sweet blend. A heavily aromatic one, so If you don't like aromatics, you need to stay away from this blend as much as you can. The tin note is amazing. It has a heavy grape/fruit casing. The cut is a fine ribbon. Its bright Virginias look beautiful. It lights quite easy and normally stay lit. And is consistent throughout the bowl whether in flavour, aroma and burn.

It's 4 o'clock in the afternoon. It's quiet and it's time for a relaxing smoke. This is the perfect time to try the Planters Sweet. I am primarily a non-aromatics smoker but do occasionally smoke an aromatic. This tobacco is by far the most pungent of the aromatics that I smoke As the name implies, this is a sweet and citrusy fine ribbon cut tobacco best suited for the Frank method of packing. I am a slow smoker so this heavily topped tobacco suits me just fine. If you are a robust smoker this could bite you. I enjoyed this tobacco with a cup of sweet tea. This is not an everyday smoke however, in my rotation, it is a twice a month indulgence. If you are of the opinion that room note is best judged by the non-smoker this tobacco rates the highest. As with most aromatics, the flavor is most intense when you first light. Heavy citrus, a delightful sweetness and a smooth taste is what to expect. Mid bowl softens the sweetness but the citrus remains in the background until the end. The tobacco burns to a fine ash and I had no relights. Nor was there any residual soup in the bottom of the bowl. This tobacco is not for everybody, however it will remain an occasional treat for this smoker. It is one of only two aromatics that I smoke.
