Hearth & Home Manor Heights
(3.00)
The name refers to a pastoral section of Cohoes, a city to the north of Albany, NY. Imagine strolling through this peaceful area with this light and dark mixture with an amazing aroma and flavor. Hints of cherry and brandy with just the right amount of sweetness characterize this cool smoking blend. This is one for all-day, everyday.

I received some generous samples from Russ Ouellette at the Newark Pipe Show recently and Manor Heights was one of them. MH is part of the somewhat new Landmark Series from Pipesandcigars.com made up of aromatics that are a bit “higher end” than their regular aromatics in both flavor and cost. MH is pretty thickly cased and smells sweet in the pouch. The blend professes to taste of dark fruit and a bit of vanilla. The tobacco is too wet to smoke out of the pouch, but after ample dry time, it smokes well. The taste is as described, something not always common to aromatic blends. The dark fruit flavor comes through from the beginning of the bowl until the end. The vanilla is very, very subtle and I found myself wanting just a tad more of it. The sweetness lessens a bit toward the end, but never leaves and the blend never turns bitter. I also don't get any chemical taste either. There was no bite at all, even when pushed. MH is not likely to win over very many non-aromatic smokers, but for the occasional (like me) or regular aromatic smoker, Manor Heights is a top quality aromatic that shouldn't be missed out on. Highly Recommended!

Autumn in a bowl!
We had out first nice evening chill last night, pipe in hand I went on the deck and loaded this into my trusty bulldog.
For what this is, its very nice. It unashamedly an aro, and all about the aroma. There isn't much of a tobacco taste, but the aroma it produces is sweet, mellow, hearty and always reminds me of autumn with that cherry and dark liquor smell.
No bite, easy to pack light and smoke. Its not complex, its not going to shake your world or make you light up bowl after bowl, but it does what it does very well.
What a crowd pleaser too! My wife loves this.
