My husband suggested I try Park Lane No. 8 because he knows that Frog on the Town is my favorite tobacco. When I smelled the jar, it smelled a lot like my favorite Frog. After lighting up, the tobacco has a light, sweet smokiness to it. No. 8 is mild and smooth, but the flavor and strength builds a little bit through the bowl. This blend reminds me a lot of FMOTT, but I think No. 8 has more body and strength to it than FMOTT. I also think there is a little more Latakia in No. 8 than there is in FMOTT. This is definitely a blend that I am going to put into my regular rotation and would recommend it highly.

Wow, when the folks at Park Lane said this one was similar to the Frog Morton series their blend description they weren’t kidding. The pouch scent is very similar to Frog Morton on the Town. It appears to be blended using a large portion of McClelland tobaccos too. With all that said, Park Lane No. 8 is not a match blend, but simply part of the genre. It is a little bit moist so it needs to be dried. When lit PL8 is mild, lightly sweet and IMO offers a bit more body than FMOTT. It burns cleanly and is balanced. PL8 is smoky, and adds a bit of spice that shows up about mid bowl. The Cavendish adds a little sweetness and body. I enjoy this type of blend on occasion, but it wouldn’t be a “rotation” blend for me. Lovers of the Frog series and Northwoods from Boswell’s should have this on their short list. Park Lane No. 8 accomplishes its intention and so it’s highly recommended.
