Kelvin’s Silent Secret. Kelvin is a young pipe artist and, first and foremost, a nice guy. Of course I had to create a blend to suit his tastes. Kelvin is not a friend of extremes, so he prefers subtle aromas; tobaccos which do not sport the casing as their shining star but employ all their ingredients as team players. The basis of this medium strong blend is made up of different Virginia grades, finished with a little Darkfired Kentucky and Black Cavendish to which a subtle and interesting flavor has been added. The Virginias‘ character remains untouched, making for a great interplay between the casing and the tobacco. A delicious treat for relaxing hours.

This tobacco came at just the right humidity, not too moist and consists of a loose cut blend of Virginia, dark-fired Kentucky, Black Cavendish and a touch of Perique. The flavouring, very discreetly applied, is made up of honey, cognac and a touch of musk. That last ingredient had me initially worried a bit but it does underline the great tobacco taste and probably would go unnoticed if I hadn't read it. This is one blend where all the ingredients mesh into a single creamy, medium bodied and only slightly sweet smoking experience that will surely satisfy those looking for an all-day smokeable blend.
