A wonderful, bright pipe tobacco, blended with brown Cavendish, double fermented black Cavendish and a high proportion of golden Virginia is then rounded off with Cube Cuts. All combined the result is a highly aromatic and sweet taste with a fantastic fruity aroma of blackcurrants and blackberries

My tins been left unopened until last month. 24mo. of sitting and waiting to be smoked. It still smells fruity...I've read and heard that aeros really don't benefit from sitting, but this proves wrong with this blend. I've placed it in a airtight jar to preserve the little moisture that's left. It needed no drying time, lights perfectly, creates a beautiful white ash, and burns great with zero moisture to the bottom of the bowl. I enjoy smoking it in a corn cob, packed loosely. Very enjoyable smoke with no bite.

I haven't smoked too much of this so this may be a bit premature. However, yes. I like it. I had to be convinced to buy it as I went in to my tobacconist looking for something completely different. I was waiting for a special moment to light it up and when my father got me a new Peterson pipe for a present, I knew it was time. It burns a little hot and can bite, but that could be a little of my fault too. The tin smells great and the description is spot on. I may update review later but I felt compelled enough to review now. Pretty good. I like it.

I initially didn't like this at all and found it very overcased and it bit like a ferret when I first smoked it . After being Mason jarred for the past 12 months I thought I would give it another go and have found it a different beast altogether. I know Aromatics aren't supposed to benefit from being aged. This definitely improved with 12 months aging and that is probably a testament to the underlying quality tobacco . The tin aroma is wonderful as with all Peterson Special blends and the tin design is fantastic . It still bites a little and the chemical taste can still come through . It is much smoother now and gives a very pleasant summer afternoon smoke . The aftertaste in your mouth is also very nice and it is actually quite moreish . Room note is great . Not one for people who are ambivalent about aromatics but I am glad I bought the two tins . This wasn't released on the British Market for some reason and I had to get mine from Europe . The 2012 Summertime has been released and I'm looking forward to comparing it to this .

Another great Limited Edition blend from Peterson. Perfect for summer time, it has a wonderful casing of blackberries and blackcurrants. A nice sweet fruity casing that pairs well with a cold glass of lemonade to have while enjoying a nice lazy summer day. The leaf combination of brown and black Cavendish and golden Virginia rounded off with cube cuts is really good as well. At times it will come to the forefront. The blend takes a lighting well and burns smooth and evenly. The flavor transfer is just right as usual with Peterson blends. Overall a great summertime blend with wonderful commemorative tin artwork.

It took me ages to finish this tin, it just didn't go down well with me. I like aros, particularly Petersons, but it was just too sickly sweet. It tastes like it smells, very heavy on the berries, very sweet, I don't really have much to compare it to.

I enjoyed the other 2011 ones, xmas and special reserve, but this was no good to me. I'll wait and see if 2012 summertime is better..

I tried twice so far to smoke this in two different pipes, and so far I think it is terrible. Burns really hot to the point I was concerned for my pipe, and I can't sense any taste or flavor. I'll give it another try with a third pipe. But after that I will just ditch it.

I will say, however, that I absolutely love Peterson's Special Reserve 2011 -- so much so I stocked up by purchasing an additional four tins of it. Great taste and flavor, and doesn't burn so hot. A close second is Peterson's Holiday Season 2011. In conclusion, I would say Special Reserve 2011 is excellent, Holiday Season 2011 is good, and Summertime 2011 is not so good.

A very sweet blend which would suit the aromatic fan quite nicely. For me, however, being a predominantly English blend smoker, Summertime 2011 is something I would smoke only on the very rare occasion that I venture into the world of aromatics. Yet I can see how a consistent aromatic smoker would enjoy this immensely.

Wonderful room note and a very pleasant taste. The taste is a dilute version of the tin note. No bite, but does burn slightly hot if not dried slightly (but not too much...).

Very sweet. Pairs well with coffee. Would've loved to see some burley in this to provide the 'granola' to the blueberry/blackberry scent, but I can add that in myself with, say, Uhle's #00.

I only started smoking about a year ago, but Peterson of Dublin is one of my favourite pipe and tobacco brands. I just got Peterson's 'Summertime 2011' and it's superb. Yes, the package is very attractive, but the content is truly a great experience.
