The grassy, tangy citrusy Virginia is the base of the blend. The nutty, earthy, woody burley plays a support role. The unsweetened black cavendish adds a little sugar. The chocolate topping sublimates the tobaccos a lot, but it lacks depth. The strength is mild, while the taste is a step past that mark. The nic-hit is barely noticeable. Won’t bite or get harsh. Needs some dry time. Burns cool and clean at a reasonable pace once dried a little, and the flavor is consistent to the finish. Leaves some moisture in the bowl, and requires a few relights. Has a short lived, very pleasant after taste, and room note. An all day smoke with just enough taste to hold your interest.

Super Value - Chocolate.

Quite coarse ribbons, a little higher with the amount of brown to black, nicely hydrated, with a heavenly aromatic smell.

So, the smoke: not one that's cartelized by vanilla black Cavendish, in a sticky fashion. The Virginia and Burley offer a lot more flavour. The chocolate sits atop of the tobaccos, without 'running the show'; it sweetens and gives the smoke a creaminess. The burn can require a fair amount of work to stabilize; quite a lot of initial lights and tamping. A positive feature of the burn is temperature: cool. It also doesn't bite.

Nicotine: mild. Room-note: very nice.

So, Super Value Chocolate? Quite a pleasant smoke, but doesn't deserve more than two stars; from me:

Somewhat recommended.

After trying the SV BC, Super Value Chocolate surprised me with a better taste experience. I really enjoy a sweet chocolatey treat once in a while, snack & tobacco wise. I have tried a couple tobaccos with chocolate/cocoa mixed with other flavorings that I like. This is the first chocolate flavored aromatic I've sampled.

When opening the pouch you get a hint of the chocolate goodness that awaits you upon smoking. The tobacco is a little on the moist side, but not too bad compared to some. It packs decent, a little better when given time to dry a bit.

The chocolate taste starts out nicely the minute the flame touches the tobacco. It's not overly sweet, I'd say moderate at best, which grows more cocoa-ish as you smoke. I think having the cavendish mixed with burley & virginia helps to enhance the flavor. The flavor tends to last better than the straight black cavendish. I did tend to get the bowl a bit hot, but never got a tongue bite.

This being only the 2nd Super Value tobacco I've tried, it fares better taste wise over the black cavendish. The flavor seems to last deeper into the bowl. If you're looking for a value priced chocolate flavored tobacco to try, here it is!

Not a bad tobacco, nothing to write home about though. Not the best chocolate, I much prefer Chocolate Silk but this is half the price. A bit on the chemically side, would probably be better dried out just a touch. Detected no tongue bite and the tobacco itself is a bit weak. I appreciate the price and like I said, it is not terrible, just not very good.

As grocery or drug store economy poly bag tobacs go I would rate Dream Castle's Super Value Chocolate a big pleasant surprise and near the top of such genre. Too many bulk bag tobaccos of the sweet aromatic variety, i.e. rhum, whiskey, cherry, vanilla are often lite on the casing or topping especially if you enjoy your smoking pleasure on the sweeter side.

This one is just about right; you can taste the chocolate/cacao but the tobacco as well which I believe is burley. The Cavendish methodology used in preparing it makes this leaf worthy of a blending upgrade if you wanted to improve the quality and flavour by adding a touch of top shelf chocolate aromatic such as Moca mixture from the Mission Pipe Shop, San Jose, CA.

For price and taste this blend is a "super value" for smokers on a slim budget who find themselves pressured these days by high fed and state tobac excise taxes.

A very pleasant smoke at a great price. The chocolate topping is applied judiciously...it doesn't completely overshadow the tobaccos. It just enhances them.

Super Value Chocolate ships wet, If you load your pipe and smoke it just after opening the pouch or bag, you'll be relighting and relighting, and getting plenty of steam mixed with the smoke. The steam can burn your tongue, and dilutes the flavor and taste of the smoke.

Dry it out before smoking it. I often spread a thin layer of the tobacco on a piece of paper in my office (or at home) and leave it there for a few days. Or load a pipe and let it sit for a couple of days before lighting it up. Once it's dried a bit, you'll enjoy the taste of the tobaccos, with the chocolate running right along side, enhancing them.

This is a good anytime smoke...a steal-deal at the price.

Well this isn't like firing up a 3 Musketeer's bar, like I was imagining. This has a very mild subtle chocolate flavor to me. Almost like an old OTC cocoa-ey burley honestly, with a good amount of sweetener added to it. Kinda like C.Hall coated with corn syrup. Honestly, I'm a little miffed at this. I was originally scared it'd be too chocolatey and fake tasting. Now I'm like "where's the chocolate?!". Wife is my blind test sniffer (she's NOT blind mind you), and she didn't rave about the note. She thought it was one of my vanilla blends. Now I will admit this is based off of my first 3 bowls of this blend. I will air some out further, and update if anything amazing happens.

Edit: Dried some out for better smoking, and what I can say is it honestly didn't help the flavor. To me what I get is a very light "hot chocolate/cocoa" flavor in the front of my mouth. Like after you swallow a swig of Cocoa and lick you lips. Very mild to unnoticeable. LIke you would have to prove to me this bag said "Chocolate". My wife refuses to believe this is Chocolate, and is probably more pissed than I am about the flavor/odor. I've used this to blend with their S.Value Cherry 50/50 and it was lost in the mix, and actually just flattened out the cherry flavor, adding no dimension. I also used this with Granger, and actually believe it brought that tobacco up a notch. So that may be it's new home. As the description above states: "...natural top note of rich chocolate that is unobtrusive". How you can be "rich" and "unobtrusive" (which sounds a lot like flavorful and unnoticeable) is beyond me, but not to S.Value, 'cause they did just that.

Super Value chocolate- the smell out of the package is rather faint. A whiff of chocolate, a little nuttiness, and a sweetness that comes from the black cav and/or the topping. The taste has the black cav brown sugar notes out in front followed by the nutty, earthy burley, the VA's are more of a support player. The chocolate really does not overpower the tobaccos but runs right along side of them and offers a little bit of creaminess to the smoke. It will not bite; smokes fairly dry for an aro of this type. The finish is on the longer side especially for a mild smoke and is pleasant. The room note is very nice most people enjoyed it others offered no comments. It did take several relights even after drying. A nice blend but when I think of chocolate my comparison standard is SG's Chocolate Flake and this does not come close to that. While SG blends have become harder to find I would still rather wait on it to come in. That said I will not be revisiting but those that enjoy a nice note of chocolate in there aromatics might want to try this one.

This is surprisingly good for a Drug Store tobacco. Much better than I expected. I bought it to tone down a latakia heavy blend that also burned hot, and it did that as well as adding depth to the overall flavor. On its own, Super Value is a pleasant aromatic that I would not feel at all put out by if it was all I had to smoke. It burns cool, stays lit well, you can taste the tobacco as well as the topping. It did not leave moisture in my Cobs or Briars.

I must start out by saying this stuff is very moist. It stuck to my fingers right out of the bag. My fingers were brown after packing the bowl. Even though it was so moist, it lit up okay and stayed lit throughout. Not a bad tasting tobacco to me. Has a nice chocolate flavor and some chunky Black Cavendish mixed in with the Burley. About halfway through the bowl, the chocolate fades a bit and I got the taste of a nice sweet burley. I usually don't smoke aromatics, but this one isn't bad. My wife loves the room note. I keep it around for when I crave something sweet to smoke. I have a cob dedicated to this one. Use caution, it is a major ghoster. Also leaves a sticky, goopy mess at the bottom of the bowl--complete with some wet dottle.
