I decided to be adventurous buying one pouch of this in a local tobacconist, after I had some positive experience with Dingler's 1904 Vanilla. After opening the pouch, I noticed that the smell of tobacco did not have the hint of vanilla that I expected. The smell was quite artificial and quite strong.
After a few days, I packed a pipeful of this tobacco. The first draw was unpleasant, a strong sour chemical-like taste. I took a second draw, thinking that I might have just been overwhelmed and that I'll adjust to the taste eventually. A third of the bowl later, I just couldn't take it anymore and had to stop. It took me near an hour repeatedly cleaning my pipe to make sure that none of that awfully sour taste and smell lingered.
Among all the inexpensive pipe tobacco I've tried, this has got to be the worst. If you want an inexpensive Vanilla aromatic, save your money and buy a Dingler's.
