Bufflehead Pintail
(3.33)
A rich full English mixture, featuring smoked Latakia and fragrant Turkish tobaccos. For interest and balance, we have also added a sweet natural Virginia. A classic outdoor smoke. Full English.

A knockout punch from the Latakia according to my palate. The Virginia within the tin was supposed to smooth out this blend but it did not do that for me, and the tin I smoked was several years old. I think the Latakia is totally Cyprian due to the heavy flavor and smoky presentation. Just too over the top for me.

David Windsor has worked magic with "Pintail". It is a "sleeper" if there ever was one. Pintail, I suspect, will have people rearranging their concepts about what a Full English can, and should, be. Pick a category - smoke volume, tin aroma, lighting ease, packing and burn properties - all of Pintail's are much, much better than average. The only weak point might be room note but, Y'know, sometimes that just really doesn't matter. But the huge pluses are the taste, which is terrific, and comes from the very obvious quality of the tobaccos and the incredible, almost palpable, balance of this blend. Dave Windsor has a perfect bullseye when he claims this blend is balanced. That becomes absolutely clear with the first few puffs and the taste remains outstanding to the very last. If Pintail were a car it would be blue-printed GTO. Four solid gold stars is all I can give Pintail only because that's all they got! Try it soon.

Tiger's review says it all. Pintail is a Full english blend with a great balance, body and smooth flavor. This is a must have for those who truly love a full English that has it all. I give this a rock solid 4 out of 4 stars.
