Watch City Cigar Original Crumb Cut

(3.33)
Original Crumb Cut is the unadulterated burley we use as a base for all of our "Crumb Cut Burley" blends. If you've smoked "Stubb's Pipe", "Deluxe Crumb Cut", "Quint's Own" or "Cap'n Boomer's" then you've been introduced to this fine burley to a degree already. O.C.C. Is not always available, as we use it extensively in our blends, but from time to time we will make it available when we have an excess. It's a wonderfully cool, sweet burley cased and cured via traditional methods with no top-note added. Just burley... great straight or as a base for your own blends!

This basic all burley blend offers earth, wood, some nuttiness, light molasses and cocoa, sugar, smoke, a touch of anise (from a casing), light spice, and a slight floral note. The strength and nic-hit are just past the mild mark, and the taste is just short of the center of mild to medium. No chance of bite or harshness. Burns cool, clean, and slightly slow with a very consistent sweet and lightly savory flavor from start to finish. Leaves little dampness in the bowl, and requires a few more than an average number of relights. Has a very pleasant, lightly lingering after taste and room note. An all day smoke that also makes a good mixer.

I can’t stop reaching for this burley when I smoke my pipe lately and I have well over 100 jars of tobacco that I can choose from at any given time. I am a burley lover and to me, this is one of the best. Ernie Q is a genius over there at Watch City and this is a very nice burley smoke with casing as mentioned in Jiminks review. Any burleyphile must try but don’t buy it all up - save some for me!

Watch City's Original Crumb Cut was mostly a cube cut. Which was fine by me, as I don't like ribbon cut.

The taste was mildly nutty, with some bitterness. Like you get with walnuts.

The smoke was smooth and on relighting, there was none of that usual nasty taste one gets with most pipe blends.

I felt a definite nic hit. But keep in mind I'm a nicotine light weight.

All in all, this is a very pleasant burley blend. Exceedingly mild in taste, so a great candidate for smoking all day if you can.

The blend isn't my cup of tea, as I prefer something a bit more sweet or flavorful. But there is nothing wrong with Original Crumb Cut.

So I will easily recommend this to all my fellow pipers who enjoy a good burley smoke.
