The Virginias provide a lot of tart and tangy citrus, vegetative grass, bread, sugar, floralness, some tangy dried darker fruit, earth, wood, spice, mild cigar, tea, and very light acidity. They are the lead components. The very nutty sweet, earthy, woody, bready burley is a supporting player. The very fruity citrus topping mildly tones down the tobaccos. The strength and nic-hit are medium. The taste level is a step stronger. There’s no chance of bite or harshness. Deeply rich with some punchy zest, this ready rubbed product burns cool and clean at a reasonable rate with a very consistent fruity, sugary, nutty, floral, moderately smooth flavor that extends to the pleasantly lingering after taste. The room note is a notch stronger. Leaves little dampness in the bowl. Requires a couple more than an average number of relights. Despite some potency, it can be an all day smoke. Three and a half stars.

A non flavor tobacco that was a fine smoke but lacked what I wanted in taste. Can't say it was a great smoke but a pleasant enough one. Don't believe I would smoke it again but will try it in a brier and edit the review if needed.

I have about 200 blends in my cellar. This blend from South Africa falls in my Top 20.

The name "Three Quarter" originally denoted its strength, i.e. "slightly stronger than medium". I'd say the strength is about medium but the taste is quite rich and full. This ready-rubbed flake is a very natural tasting Virginia/Burley blend with hints of leather, brown sugar and spice. As a piper I love the room note and catch myself french inhaling often; for non-smokers the room note goes more in the direction of pleasant/tolerable.

The tobacco is quite moist and benefits from 20 minutes' drying time. It can bite slightly if puffed too hard, which I tend to do because I love the flavour so much! But to be honest I don't even care -- it's that good!

Although this is an aromatic, it is not a goopy one. I did smoke this often but have just moved on i guess. Very similar to Van Eerkoms Navy Cut, just a bit stronger.

Nothing spectacular
