Planta Fisherman's Love Navy

(2.40)
The flavor takes the cool freshness to this pipe tobacco. Best Virginias mixed with burley flake and rounded by a composition of fruity flavors.

Just for background: I have smoked a pipe regularly since 1961 and enjoy all types of tobacco.

Fisherman's Love Navy Blend is my favorite aromatic. It is hard to find an aromatic blend that is not highly scented. This blend has the right balance between tobacco taste and casing.

I haven't seen the blend for sale since 1995. Does anyone know where it is available in the USA?

Thank you.

Once you open the tin, a pleasant fruity smell, like citrus or something, hits your face. But it is not what you're going to taste in the bowl. On the contrary, the flavoring is relatively shy, however present while smoking. Really really nice blend, at times it seemed that Fisherman's Love wishes to substitute the legendary Capstan Blue. However it does have its own personality. I guess that it could be an every-day smoke, but I have an objection: I feel that the 100gr tin tends to make the smoke boring, for it's too much.... Overall though, a really nice smoking experience.

This is very nice tobacco to use regularly everyday, it's really cool and not disturbing.

suppose recipe of this blend changed or something strange happened to it. It smells like bullshit, in order to smoke it you must leave the tin open 3/4 days.

Upon opening the tin the honey-like aromatic smell can be disturbing if you are looking for a real tobacco taste. Don't be dissapointed, it will offer you something different.

I looked for the broken flake pieces of burley in the blend. Are they that less? No. Just mix the blend well. You'll find enough of them at the bottom. I've transferred the tobacco in my tobacco pot and left the it open. Next day the honey-like smell and the humidity was lesser.

Packed and lit easily. First I've had a very sweet taste which surrounded by the burley later. After the half of the bowl I still had that very sweet taste but the burleys were richer.

The sweetness of the smoke is tiresome a bit for me. The nicotine level is satisfying.

This blend is not offering a very true tobacco taste, neither a full aromatic smoke. You'll find a bit from each properties. It can be a nice experience for both aromatic and non-aromatic fans.
