Another high-quality American English from Cornell & Diehl. I can't tell if the subtle sweetness is due to some very small amount of top coat or just the blending magic of C&D. As other reviewers have commented, C&D are experts in burley blends. Although there is some light Virginia present, I detect the signature burley more than the Virginia.
This blend is somewhat like "Old College" from the same tobacco team, but with less latakia. For that reason, I slightly prefer it over Big Ben. Here, the latakia is not a significant player, but it is present throughout the smoke. Relaxing and satisfying, Big Ben is a winner.
Govern Yourself Accordingly.

I actually smoked this blend back in the very early 2000's when it was made for Uptown's by C&D. A skillful blend of the finest VA ribbon, Latakia, rough cut Burley and unsweetened black Cavendish. An American style presentation of the leaf much like Barking Dog; not a great deal of flavor but just enough to allow multiple bowls to be smoked in a day without palate fatigue.
