It's always nice to find what you're looking for, even if you're not quite sure what that is. I managed to snag a 10 year old tin of this from Pipestud. Turned out to be a nice score!
This is a dark colored ribbon cut of virginia with a heavy dose of orientals, probably of the Samsun variety. The flavor is dark but not heavy, flavorful but not overpowering. The turkish condiment is not really a condiment at all but an equal player. It alternates wonderfully between sweet and earthy, powerful and sublime. Hardly a strong tobacco, either on the tastebuds or in the bloodstream, this is still full-flavored in the traditional British mode. No Lakeland florals or flavorings of any kind but a mouth-filling smoke that shows a high degree of complexity. This tobacco delivers what Presbyterian and Campanile failed to bring. Even the newer U.S blends of just virginia and orientals pale in comparison. At no time did I ponder any lack of oriental flavor or depth. This is simply the finest blend of Virginia and Orientals I've ever smoked. Hopefully I can figure out how to get more! Recommended to everyone.

Because I love the G. Smith and Sons 100% Virginia, I naturally wanted to follow suit with Old London, but it took about six months to find an old tin (mine is from the 198os) and it was worth the wait. I am not positive, but I think the more subdued Oriental varietals were used in this blend, right along with the same dark and bold Virginia steamed and toasted to Cavendish form that they used in their Virginia blend. Simply smashing stuff!

No Latakia in this very fragrant and traditional English blend. The Turkish and Cavendished leaf lend an intense, Oriental like sweetness that, together with the choice Virginia, produce a very tasty and highly aromatic (in a natural sense) smoke.
Akin to Fox's Campanile, this blend is a prime example of the old English blending school. Medium to full in strength, it is a delight to smoke outdoors, whilst taking a quiet stroll through Hyde Park or Kensington Gardens. It's the type of blend that allows you to kick back, unwind and think to yourself "all is well". Highly recommended. Hope you find a tin or two!
