The aromatic Virginia/burley cavendish and back cavendish offer earth, wood, bread, light tart and tangy citrus, grass and nuts, along with some creamy nougat, molasses, honey, sugar, light chocolate and vanilla. They are the lead components. The Cyprian Latakia provides earth, wood, floralness, plenty of smoke, light mustiness and a little sweetness as strong supporting player. The aspects of the bright Virginia are a lot of tart and tangy citrus, grass, bread, sugar, mild tart sour lemon, some floralness, light acidity, and a couple pinches of spice. It is several notches below the Latakia in a secondary role. The strength almost reaches the medium mark. The taste is medium. The nic-hit is a step below the strength threshold. No chance of bite or harshness, and barely has any rough edges. Burns cool and clean at a reasonable rate with mostly consistent, sweet and mildly savory, lightly spicy, nuanced flavor that extends to the short lived, pleasant after taste. Barely leaves any dampness in the bowl, and requires an average number of relights. The room note a notch stronger than the after taste. An all day smoke with a little punch. Three and a half stars out of four.

Looks like a standard run-of-the-mill English blend in the bag, with the typical black to light brown ribbons. Came dry enough to smoke. The cavendish aromatic aroma came through in the bag, merged with the latakia.

An English-Aromatic crossover blend. I tend not to smoke such things much, and this one won't change my mind. However, for those that enjoy this type of blend, this is the best I've found. It takes the essences of both styles and merges them very nicely, if not seamlessly. The aromatic flavor comes through but is melded with the latakia, with the virginia in the backseat. It is sweet but not too sweet, smokey but lightly so, and it comes through as a tobacco lovers aromatic rather than a sugary batch of too-wet goop. Smokes very dry and stays lit easily. Very tasty but not complex, and the aromatic stayed with me for the entire bowl. If you enjoy Tinderbox's Sherlock's Choice, this is a superior example of that genre. I'd be curious how this compares to Sillem Black but I'm not interested enough in the genre to invest in that one. Try this if you enjoy the taste of latakia but want the sweetness and soft mouthfeel of a finely crafted aromatic.

If there is a sweet top not as described the Latakia does not allow it to come through.I don't detect any sweetness here at all. To my tastes this is a straight forward Latakia dominated smoke that stays the same the entire way through the bowl. Medium strength, biteless with no complexity at all.

If you like Latakia then you will probably think this blend is okay but there is nothing here that would separate it from a myriad of other such tobaccos.

This is an interesting tobacco--a mix of cavendish, Virginia, and latakia. It's an aromatic, but I think it comes closer to an English blend in some ways.

Upon opening the pouch, I was greeted by a pleasant aroma in which I could smell the latakia more than anything else. The tobacco was not too moist and not at all sticky. It packs well, lights easily and burns smoothly. This is a tobacco that smokes dry and didn't give me any gurgle at all. It also smoked easily to the bottom of the bowl.

The aromatic component of this blend was pretty light to me. The latakia came through clearly and was the dominant note of this smoke although at times the sweetness of the Virginia came through with a nice tangy mix from the latakia.

I found this to be a mild smoke with a slight sweetness that accented the smokiness of the latakia in a pleasant way.

All in all I found this to be a pleasant blend but one that would probably be more enjoyed by a smoker who likes latakia rather than one who primarily smokes aromatics.
