During my vacation from English blends and flakes, I have been going through the world of aromatics and thought I give a try to a few of Uhle's as they make some wonderful Burley's and English blends. Big Dipper is smooth, bite free aromatic that is sweet, but not as sweet as some of the other aromatics that I have been trying. Big Dipper is well made and smokes fairly dry. However, it is a pretty basic vanilla aro that doesn't really stand out. I think it's worth a recommendation, but my personal feeling is that there are other aromatics from Uhle's that I find more interesting. I find Black Stoker from Uhle's a better choice.

Nobody does Burley better than Uhle's. And this famous old shop also has some remarkably good blends that many people have not heard about or tried due to Uhle's "niche" market. Back in 2008 I discovered this hidden treasure and purchased what was, at the time, tins and bags of all of their blends. I hope these Uhle's reviews will open the door for you to some really good stuff!
This one was named Seven Star Big Dipper blend back when I purchased a bag in 2008. Strong hints of Chocolate and Vanilla and quality Burley and Virginia (I never really tasted the Virginia), playing in the background for this aromatic that is light, but stronger than many blends of these genre.

I was given this tobacco as a sample during a period of military leave. I visited Uhle's and bought a pipe and during my purchase I was given this as a sample and have smoked it all up. I am in the process of getting more. I love the taste and the room note that this tobacco leaves behind.

If you want the smell of vanilla cookies baking in the oven wafting about yourself, here's your blend. It is smoothness and mildness itself, I'll give it that.
That's fine, but, for me, the aromatic agents overwhelm the tobacco. That's not something I particularly care for...maybe in a couple of years, and another sample packet comes my way, I'll change my mind.
