This is a very old fashioned and simple aromatic. Burley and Virginia, cased with cane syrup.
It is a rough cut mixture of medium brown. The pouch aroma is delicious, smelling of brown sugar sauce. It lights easily and burns well. Aroma while smoking is very much like hot cane syrup. The taste is sweet, and there is a hint of spice to it. There is only the faintest trace of tobacco flavor.
Pipe smoking is a bit like barbecue: If you keep your fire slow and low, you should be alright. Well, not with this stuff. Since it is low quality leaf, no matter how careful I was, I always ended up with a rank aftertaste. Like licking an ashtray.
As I don't enjoy being punished every time I smoke, I will avoid this blend from now on.
