Very Mild None Detected Mild Pleasant

After trying several of Dan Tobacco's blends, I get the impression that their blenders have an uncanny knack (with one notable exception) to make tobaccos which stand out by not standing out too much.

Opening the tin, a gentle, grassy VA aroma caresses the nose, and the tobacco is more ribbon cut than ready rubbed. One may also wonder why they call this blend "Copenhagen Cavendish" because I cannot detect much Cavendish in there; just nice, pure, very bright VA.

CC packs easily (and one should not pack it too tightly), lights easily, burns easily, it is mild, mild, mild but with a good amount of flavour. Burns coolly, the taste is coolly sweet and bright with a hint of citrus in it, the room note is bright and dry though nothing especially noteworthy. Another one I could smoke all day, no rough edges or peculiarities in there.

So far, this is the coolest-burning VA I have had the pleasure to try. The taste develops a little during the second half, but is never overwhelming. I would highly recommend this tobacco for beginners - it's mild enough and easily maintained and I think it would make a great introduction for novice VA smokers.

I ordered this due to sheer interest what a "pure Cavendish" would taste like. Well..I doubt that it's pure Cavendish, it's mostly Virginias, with a bit of (brown) Cavendish, no black spots in the ready rubbed mixture.

Besides that the unburnt scent is intriguing and mild. Reminiscent of honey & bread. Came in perfect smoking condition, but I only had a sample of this so I can't comment on tin moisture. Although the moisture is low, it diddn't took the lightwell and needed 4-5 tries to finally get in burning good on first light. After that it burns rather steady and doesn't need too much relights.

As I finally got to smoke a bowlful of this I wasn't expecting too much, but got positively surprised by Copenhagen Cavendish. In the beginning of smoking my first bowl I got hit by a rich bready aroma, reminiscent of whole-rye bread. The honey is subtle, yet always there and it caresses the decently spicy bread notes very well. Honey and bread are the dominating aromas from this blend, and are underscored by decent spiciness and a very mild citrusy quality. Smoke is creamy, satisfying and has a slightly toasted undertone to it. Besides the honey there's no other flavoring to detect.

Even tho this isn't what I expected from the name "Copenhagen Cavendish", this is a solid and tasteful Virginia+(brown)Cavendish pipe blend.

What Cop.Cav. is not? It's not really what I consider "danish", as it's rather subtly sweet and the (honey) casing doesn't subdue the tobacco.

What Cop.Cav. is? It's a natural, very bready Virginia with a decent, but not overwhelming amount of honey-sweet and toasty Cavendish to it.

Easily 3/4 stars worthy. This will appeal to danish-style pipe smokers, who want a rather natural, yet honey-ish sweet, but not goopy-sweet blend. As well as this will suit the craving for something sweet, for any other pipe smoker who like a honey-ish sweet blend by times, which still has enough tobacco flavour to call it "natural tobacco".

A well done "danish-styled" that's in perfect harmony to enjoy it.

A very smooth and flavorful smoke. My tin is 8+ years old and seems to have aged very nicely.
