Tin note: Sweet Virginia, malt, bread, nuts Taste: Citrus, malt, freshly baked bread, nuts, dried fruits, earth, hay

This tobacco is named after the first governor of the Free State of Bavaria, who should be portrayed on the cover of the tin. But the creators of this tobacco didn’t want to have some tobacco warnings on the portray of Kurt Eisner. So, they have made a simple cover with text and added a sticker with the actual cover inside of the tin. After opening the tin, you are able to put the sticker on top of the tin to have a tin cover without these design disrupting smoking kills warnings. I think this is a nice idea, which should be used for every blend with a thoroughly designed cover. After opening the tin, you will find besides of the sticker a very nice tobacco which is perfectly moist to be smoked directly. Moreover, you can smell that this tobacco consists of sweet Virginia with a pleasant malty smell what reminds me of bread. The Burly shows through the tin note by a scent of nuts.

Lighting the tobacco is very easy and it can be smoked without relights. The first flavor that I got was citrus fruits. Very distinct citrus fruits. And then some malty flavors show up. They remind me of freshly baked dark bread. When some of the Burly catches fire, I can taste a bit chocolate and very distinct nuts. The nut flavor is that notable as I have just experienced it on a nut aromatic tobacco before. But it doesn’t dominate the smoke experience because it shows up from time to time, while getting more recognizable at the end of the pipe. More in the background I can taste dried fruits, earth and hay.

This tobacco is not a complex one, but you will not getting bored while smoking it. Due to the fact, that this is a quite simple and smooth tobacco which could be kept lit easily, I would recommend this tobacco to everyone who is new to pipe smoking. For everyone else, this is a perfect all day smoke.

I liked this one. It has its own, distinct taste, which I can't really describe. A well-behaved and very consistent blend. I always enjoy it when its rotation turn comes. Very nice presentation too, with the sticker you can stick on the can to hide the bs warning.
