Sutliff Tobacco Company Pistachio #27

It's vanilla. Maybe that and some Peterson Nutty Cut equivalent mixed in there, and a tad bit of Sutliff honey. I'm pretty sure half of this is Sutliff Vanilla D40. It's not bad though, and quite smooth. You'll taste pistachio only if your mind lets you by reading the label. Might benefit from pouring pistachio oil over the whole thing and letting it sit for a year.

Very light burley taste of the sweet vanilla variety. The black cavendish enables the custardy vibe of the added flavor, which I suppose stands for the faux-Pistachio aroma. This aroma is not overdone. In fact, it was slight, which is a good thing. Sinner that I am, it was not given to me to taste or otherwise notice the virginia listed among the ingredients. The aromatic element does not overwhelm but rather seduces in a quiet way. Faux pistachio or not, it works for me as I like mild tobacco, particularly light and mild aromatics. Mild but not weak. YMMV. Surprisingly complex smoke that widens its flavor as it progresses to mid-bowl. Never squats down into bitterness or bite, but should be smoked at a slow pace nonetheless. The temptation to puff more flavor out of it should be resisted. A slow smoke will provide what it wants to provide: a pleasant, mild smoke that invites more frequent revisits than other aros that I've known.

For some reason, the light hand used for this blend reminds me of the low-key aromatics concocted by the late, lamented Chief Catoonah. This school of aros may be considered "hot air" by seekers of stronger sensations. But it's perfect for such as I, who look for pleasant but uncomplicated all-day aros with no fuss, with no bite and no bitterness.
