The Virginias offer a little grass and citrus with a touch of dark fruit and earth as the base of the blend, but they are not dominant in any way. The nutty, earthy, woody, lightly molasses sweet burley is very obvious and often takes a sliver of the lead. The smoky, woody sweet Cyprian latakia is a team player, and fights for attention with the burley and Orientals. The floral, woody, earthy, dry, lightly buttery sweet, spicy Orientals plays a support role. The raisiny, plumy, spicy perique is a condiment at best. The strength, nicotine, and taste levels all fall a step short of medium. Won’t bite, but you may experience a light tongue tingle from the spice if puffed fast. Has no harsh notes, and not much sweetness. Burns cool and clean at a moderate pace with a little inconsistency of rich flavor, which has a bit of savoriness. Leaves little moisture in the bowl, and requires an average number of relights. Has a pleasant, lightly lingering after taste. Can be an all day smoke.
