A really delicious Oriental. Similar in flavour to the Ramback Balkan but without the added flue cured leaf and therefore fuller in the oriental flavours. Woody, a little rooty and earthy along with delicate sweetness and subtle floral undertones. I actually found that a 50/30/20 blend of this, Windsail flue cured and the Blender's Bench Yenidje produces a superior "Ramback Balkan" style smoke that has a richer and more complex Oriental flavour to it. I would love to be able to try their sun-grown Balkan Virginia also, which is used in their Balkan blend, but I do not think they have made this particular leaf available on it's own. As fantastic as all of their Blender's Bench orientals are as blending components for the pipe, I also find them to be the finest tobaccos in the world for tubing. I usually blend in a little Penhooker or Windsail but they are so excellent that they can be smoked straight without burning poorly or being one dimensional.

Peterson Ashford and also tubes
