The red Virginia is mildly tangy, earthy, lightly woody, with a fair amount or dark fruit, a hint of spice, and a touch of citrus. The strength is a step or so past mild, while the taste levels in the center of mild to medium. The nic-hit is mild. Won’t bite or get harsh.Burns cool, clean, and a tad fast with a very consistent flavor. Leaves little moisture in the bowl, and requires an average number of relights. Has a short lived, pleasant after taste and room note. Very monochromatic on its own, but if you want a light, all day red Va., this is fine for that. Does better as a mixer, which is the intention anyway.
