First off, it was nearly impossible to find any informations on this blend online. Mac Baren doesn't list it on their website, there are zero reviews and no informations about it. Only 2 Shops I've found offer them (in the US) and only one of them has the brief description stated above.

Mac Barens 24 Karat is a full-grown, goopy aromatic in the style of Captain Black and alike. Tastewise it shares similarities with Captain Black White, which I like a lot.

The cut is a Cavendish Ribbon-Cut, of fine ribbons. Consisting of mostly brown Cavendish, with speckles of black Cavendish in it. The unburnt tobacco gives scents of Vanilla, Caramell and some Licorice. Very sweet, sticky and goopy.

Even tho I don't like this style of pipe tobacco so much, this is one of the few I like (along with CB White and Rum&Maple by Pöschl), because the flavoring (which is subduing the tobacco to a point where one might ask if theres any tobacco in it) is well done and enjoyable.

Once burning the tobacco gives very sweet, very intense aromas of Vanilla & Coffee with a touch of Caramel to it. There's also a decent licorice quality to it, which I think comes from the high PG (Propylenglycol) used in it, just like CB White. The vanilla flavoring is a good one, unobtrusive, and not overly artificial. The Coffee flavoring is very palatable and gives aromas of fresh milled coffee-beans that's very close to to the actual coffee-bean aroma. As stated before, no tobacco taste to be found, this is a full-grown aromatic! But one of the better ones, really!

Has a very pleasant after-taste in the mouth that's lingering for very long (especially the licorice-note). The room note is outstandingly good and is a women-magnet. Very suitable if you have to take care about your surroundings.

Mild in strenght, with only little nicotine. Easily an All-Day-Smoke for people who like aromatics.

Leaves a lot of sticky, syrup-like moisture in the bowl and I recommend wiping through the bowl with a piece of toilet paper after each smoke to prevent the bowl from getting swampy.

I'd like to recommend this blend for (heavy) Aromatic-Lovers, and for people who, like me, get a sweet tooth by times and enjoy a well done full-grown Aromatic. Nothing natural about this tobacco, this is candy-sweet, and contrasted by the slightly earthy coffee-flavoring.

For lovers of highly aromatic blends this can be a treat! Otherwise I'll "somewhat recommend" this due to it's goopy- and aromatic-ness 😉
