Straight Burley. I was told at DanTobacco that they got this batch of leaf so wet they had to emergency-dry it by toasting, then had to rest it for over a year. Then, they had no idea what to do with it, as it is quite a bit stronger than what they use in their usual blends. So they put it out as a blending tobacco.
Opening the tin, I can believe that. The tin note is wine-ish, almost like an aged VA, but with that chocolate overtone betraying the leaf as, well, a Burley. Long ribbon cut, everything in the expected medium brown colour range, stuffing easy, use narrow bowls or it'll burn hot.
The taste is sweet, with some cocoa notes in there. Room note very typical Burley, chocolate and cocoa, rather dry.
Apart from that, respect this stuff. It's not exactly beginners' fare. Lots of Vitamin N. Very tasty, sweet-cocoa-chocolate. It's sold as a blending tobacco, but I don't want to blend it, really.
I may be just a little high on Nic. Sorry. Great stuff.
