Samuel Gawith - Amaretto.
Okay, it's not ribbons, it's quite a coarsely cut blend. Nor is it a straight Virginia, as it says on a few websites I've looked at; it's a blend of Virginia, Cavendish, and Burley.
The topping embellishes the smoke nicely: it gives a good nutty quality, without being too cloying. Because it's Amaretto the nuts are supported by a slightly sharp alcoholic note.
Regarding the nicotine, Amaretto appears to be from the school of stronger aromatics. It's not 'strong', but nor is it weak: medium. And the room note's quite pleasant, even if it makes quite a plume!
And finally, the smoke's medium in temperature, it's bite free, and the burn's good.
This makes a nice change from the usual sticky aromatics.
