While at Polish Fest here in Milwaukee, I had the pleasure of running into another pipe fan. We swapped stories and were delighted to sample the other's tobacco. Trevor was visiting from Minneapolis and brought with him a little mason jar of Black Bird from his local tobacconist.
It had a pleasant "golden" smell of wheat and honey which was perfect for the summer heat. I was worried the flavors might be too delicate to hold up while smoked, but was pleased with my first few puffs. It was very mellow and just sweet enough to stay interesting. Very light on the nicotine.
By the time I finished the bowl, I was a believer and will definitely look up Lewis Tobacco next time I'm in the area.
