The original Pearl Tobacco Company Perle Blended was a stout Burley that was actually quite popular for a lot of years. It also contained some Virginia leaf but not much. I smoked an old tin of this just last year and the tobacco was still a little moist and the presentation toasty with just a hint of the Virginia leaf showing through. I really liked the strength of this blend (much stronger than the current Orlik version), and the nutty, toasted flavor of the Burley.
