As you can see from the ingredients, this is a complicated blend. The RR Burley flake is simply gorgeous. I highly recommend it to those who prefer traditional English mixtures and yet can't smoke them in the company of nonsmokers. It has such a 'serious' taste and yet a very sweet room aroma

The Virginia is a little grassy and earthy with a fair amount of citrus and a touch of dark fruit, and not only forms the base of the blend, but at times fights for attention with the other components. So does the nutty, molasses sweet burley, though not as often, in a support role. The sweet black cavendish works to smooth out the taste, and has a touch of vanilla as a backup player. The spicy, raisiny perique has a very minor presence, and isn’t always noticeable. You’ll taste the smoky, woody sweet Cyprian latakia, but it’s seldom more than a condimental ingredient. Sometimes, it does seem to show itself a little more in the second half of the experience. I do think there is an extremely mild topping, but I can't identify it, and it doesn't distract from the tobaccos. It does have enough complexity to hold your interest. The nic-hit is mild. No chance of bite, and has no rough, dull or harsh spots. Mildly sweet all the way through, it has just enough smoke and wood to appeal to those who prefer a light English. Burns cool and clean at a moderate pace with a fairly consistent flavor. Needs few relights, and leaves little moisture in the bowl, and will end up as ash. Has a pleasant room note, and can be an all day smoke.

Schurch has a grouping of blends that they call “Modern English” that are separate from their traditional English blends; Moschita is the first of that group that I have had the pleasure to try. The pouch aroma has a leathery sweetness, although it is a subdued sweetness. The coarse cut is easily packed and produces thick clouds of smoke. I often struggle with the room note while smoking a blend, but my wife smokes this blend too and I find the room note to be almost aromatic with a fruity scent. Given the number of component tobaccos, the skill of the blender keeps it all from being mottled and Moschita has some interesting complex flavors. The sweetness stays with me throughout the bowl, but there is some savory too after the mid-bowl mark. As a lover of traditional English blends, I can appreciate Schurch pushing the boundaries, but I can't see this as an everyday blend for my taste. But as a change of pace, it's nice. Those that enjoy Sillims London or HU-Tobacco's “Sweet Latakia” will find a kindred spirit with Moschita. Recommended.
