Mild Very Mild Mild Pleasant

I used to smoke this fairly regularly in the 1970s. It was very like Ogden's Gold Block, though cut a bit finer, I remember; sweet, mild and with a pleasant room note. Like Gold Block it was an undemanding all-day smoke; not a tobacco for the lover of strong flavours or high doses of Vitamin N, but excellent for what it was. It had to be taken slowly or it would burn quickly and hot. There was a mildly aromatic Cavendish note to it. I don't remember any cigar leaf, though.

There's no point other than nostalgia in reviewing it here, because it hasn't been in production for at least thirty years. I miss it, rather. It was a good smoke for a quiet read.

Similar Blends: If memory serves, it was very like Ogden's Gold Block; though GB itself has changed a lot since the days when LC was in production..
