McGahey's - Marytavy Nougat.

First things first- this doesn't only contain Burley; either that or it has the blackest Burley in the world included in it! I'd say it seems to be a coarse cut mixture of Burley, Virginia and Cavendish, of a good moistness with a very aromatic smell.

I fill a large bowled Rattray and begin the smoke. It lights very easily and imminently I get a strong flavour of nougat. It seems thick, heavy and typically -for an aromatic- gloopy. As full as the nougat flavour is at the start, it becomes EVEN more concentrated as the bowl burns down; smokers who enjoy natural blends will detest it yet any folks who get their thrills from something inordinately aromatic will love it!

The nicotine strength is classically aromatic: very mild. This would make it good for a newbie I would guess!

I enjoy the flavour quite a lot, but after the initial 'impressed' feeling passes a few negatives become more prominent;

1. tongue bite. It's not a real tongue shredder but it can give a little nip.

2. temperature. Unfortunately it does burn warm, ergo the smoke can be too hot.

If it weren't for these low points this would get a four star 'pat on the back' from me but they sadly reduce it from four stars to three.

Recommended.
