Nice medium flavored blend, dry smoke, few relights, no tongue bite. Best when you want to smoke a bowl and don't think. Will i buy again? No. But i was happy to tried.

Please Note: I wrote a rather unfavorable review of this blend giving it a one star rating in the end. I feel ashamed about that review because as it turned out i was coming down with a killer flue in the four days i sampled this blend. Needless to say that my sense of taste was all buggered and my mouth overly sensible. So i revisited this blend right away when i was healthy again ...

This blend is a bit weird for several reasons: it is a summer blend that was invisible all summer and only really appeared end of August to begin of September. It was released in June already but almost no one had it. There are no descriptions as to the contents of the blend. Neither does it say which tobaccos are used nor does it say what flavour/topping was used. Also there are no reviews to be found. It bears the addition "Summer Edition" on the label, suggesting there will be more blends to come. All in all it is somewhat of a mystery.

The tin presentation is lovely and the reason why i let myself get suckered into buying it. The lid shows a painting of Carl Spitzweg (if you do not know him, google him and look for the painting "Jugenfreunde". Then, when you see that tiny little detail you will start laughing out loud ;o)) and inside there is a paper inlay to cover the tobacco which is packed in a plastic bag as well. Very nice.

Tin note is of some undefined fruit and unfortunately has an artificial note it.

Packing is easy and the cut somehow makes it rather impossible to over stuff your pipe. When it is packed just right you can not bring in more tobacco it will just be pushed back out of the bowl. Very, very nice for the beginner.

The taste is of some generic undefined fruits. I can identify vanilla and coconut notes but not tobacco. I also cannot find the advertised creaminess, in fact it is even a bit harsh to the tongue. It is a boring blend you had a dozen times in your pipe already. Which is a pity because overall it is a nice blend, if it only would translate into taste as well.

Also this blend has a clear tendency to burn hot, which for a summer blend is a knock out criteria. But you can smoke it during the winter as well fortunately.

So, do i recommend this blend? No, still not really. It just is too much the copy of a copy of a copy to be interesting in any way. However, should you be amongst the smokers that enjoy Planta blends then by all means give Sunday Blend a run. It just might be a three star blend for you.
Pipe Used: It went trough rotation.
